Alarm (?) This is
a five alarm fire in East Boston..15 Nov 1942..Box
6153...after the 3rd alarm and the fire appeared to be under
control there
was a large collapse..6 firefighters died and as many as 40 were
injured,
some never returned to duty...also, Ladder Co. 8' 1941 American
La France
125' aerial ladder was damaged..this rig was painted white..it
was nicknamed "The White Elephant"..it was re-built
and re-painted red and the ladder was only 100' long...I'll keep
looking...what great photos.... keep 'em
